General Terms, Conditions, & Policies

All announcements made the day of the auction take
precedence over all written or verbal statements.

Sales Tax: Ohio sales tax applies (6.75%) without applicable State Vendor’s License number.

Buyer’s Premium:

• 14.5% (discounted 2.5% for cash or check) will be added to the “hammer price” for gallery purchases. 17.5% will be added to the “hammer price” for Internet and Absentee purchases.

Reserves: This is a public auction and as such items are deemed to be sold “with reserve”. Some or all lots in this catalog are offered subject to a reserve, which is the confidential minimum acceptable to the seller. The auctioneer may bid on behalf of seller up to the reserve by using successive or unsuccesive bids.

Returns: All items are sold AS IS and buyers are bidding based on their own inspection. You are encouraged to make contact with us prior to the auction to gain more information about a specific lot or lots.

Guarantee: We provide a limited guarantee that protects the buyer against major discrepancies in our descriptions that are provided herein in good faith. A major discrepancy is one that would have a major effect on the value of the item. We also protect you against fakes, reproductions, major restorations, or major repairs.

Time Limit for Guarantee: Any and all claims pertaining to major discrepancies must be presented to us immediately upon discovery of such discrepancy. Claims will be recognized only within thirty (30) days after the date of purchase. Unfortunately, after such time our consignors are paid and no restitution will be made.

Purchases: At the “fall of the hammer” ownership passes to the purchaser and at that point he or she is responsible for the item(s) including prompt payment thereof. All sales are final.

Payment: All accounts are to be settled before leaving premises the day of the auction. Absentee buyers must make prompt payment as spelled out in the specific Absentee bidding terms and conditions. We accept Cash, Traveler or Personal Checks (with proper ID), MC, VISA and DISCOVER for gallery purchases. Off-site purchases, including Internet, phone and absentee purchases, are payable by credit card only.

Auctioneer: Our auctioneers are licensed by and abide by the laws of the State of Ohio and will be the final judge in all bidding disputes and shall name a bidder as the purchaser. We reserve the right to reject any bid, as well as the right to refuse to acknowledge any bidder.

Acceptance: By bidding on any item, the bidder shows that they have read and accepted all Terms and Conditions posted on this page.
